today i am reminded of an old quote from Rilke that goes something like this: "you must ask yourself in the stillest moment of your night, if it were denied you to create, would you die? and if the answer is yes, then you have no choice. if your answer is no, then please go do something else."

quite so. it's by ignoring this question that i manage to waste so much of my time. the internet always looks so sweet, and then 5 hours are gone...

i must first eat some food, and then back to the sketchbook. or at least take refuge in heinlein or dave mckean.

hi. i just read that quote somewhere too now it is driving me crazy.....

a-ha. dennis hopper. quoting it in article on viggo mortenson in latest vanity fair. :) one of those wack-o coincidences.

do you think it's all the creating making the hair in your ears grow? :)
