trailing

today the rain is strong. the house dark. i listen to Bach and read. tea in the thermos for later. i imagine it will be one of those nights where a warm dinner and a movie watched from the couch feels perfect. the first hints at fall really, though i should not be overzealous, for behind fall, quiet and even darker, looms winter. instead, i should be present as so many wise folks have said, and enjoy this slight taste of fall trailing at the end of summer. it seems one thing is always just behind the other. homemade vegetable soup for lunch will be just the thing. you see: a blog wherein i write what i will have for lunch. perhaps there is merit in such things.
